Keyboardist Al Pascua launched his career in Hawaii at the age of 15, playing in the local nightclubs. In the late 70's Al and Jay Molina started the band “Music Magic”, whose influences include Earth Wind & Fire, Chick Corea, and Stevie Wonder, to name a few. They drew a strong following largely due to their unique formula of mixing pop and jazz tunes into their repertoire. They also opened for headliners like the Average White Band, Chaka Khan and Bob James. Their first album “Music Magic” got them a favorable review in Billboard Magazine and a "Hoku" nomination. On their second album, the title track, “One Man Lady” written by Al, climbed to #1 on the local charts.

After the successful run of Music Magic, Al moved to Los Angeles where he performed live in local venues, concerts and in the studios playing on remix tracks for Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly & Maze and Babyface, to name a few.

His next endeavor reignited his passion of composing, which resulted in the release of a contemporary jazz EP titled “The Al Pascua Project” that introduced popular tracks like “Sweet October” and “Still Up in the Air”. More recently, singles such as “Brang It!” and “Run, but You Can’t Hide” that both feature Senri Kawaguchi (world re-known female Japanese drummer) and Michael Paulo (world class sax artist) highlight his contemporary jazz style, garnering over 200k views on YouTube.

Lately his passion for composing has led Al to branch off and venture into writing music for Film/TV, trailers, and promos. Genres include Orchestral Soundtracks, Tension cues and Classical Crossover solo piano pieces. Feel free to explore Al’s multi-faceted writing style offered in The Al Pascua Collection.
